The food we had was fine, if typical for a Harvester, and was served promptly (in fact the mains arrived while we were still having our starters, but it was a Sunday evening and the place was pretty quiet). Our table was booked for 8.30, and the service initially was friendly and efficient. Our problem was that we didn’t know everyone had to leave by 10pm, we hadn’t been told and the manageress wasn’t very polite about insisting we take our remaining drinks outside (and it was a cold evening). We should have been given at least 10 minutes notice, and in any case 10.00 seems a very early time to shut, even on a Sunday. So, the food and drinks were fine, but the way the visit ended left a bit of a sour taste, I’m not sure we would return.
